Ever wish every player could select the same character from the multiplayer menu? This patch makes it possible. Once applied, any number of players may select the same character from the menu. the only side effect is that selected character portraits no longer darken.
I feel almost bad releasing a whole patch to do this one little thing. The patch changes a wholloping one byte.
A cheat-device version is a bit convoluted so a codeset isn't available in this release. It isn't hard to write, but the codes will break other codes - most notably the uploader - so allow a tiny bit of time to work on a fix.
Apply the patch *only* to an unbyteswapped rom. Be sure to apply the correct patch for your region game.

Being able to select the same character in multiplayer will not only stop arguements over who gets to be who, but also allow for team matches, where each team wears a specific costume. The Arctic Commando's vs. The Jungle Commando's, for example. This mod should be included in one of the Editor's menus sometime. |
