Though neurodes can be found from the beginning of Warframe, they’re still strangely rare resources. They’re critical components for Forma, Orokin Reactors, and various weapons and Warframe parts.
Many players need to catch up on the drop location for this material and are left trying to find out in other places. This guide will show how to get Neurodes and the best farming spots.
What you will need to get Neurodes in Warframe
You can find Neurodes in abundance by exploring different planets and searching for containers (both regular storage containers and Neuroptic Mass). It is also possible to kill enemies to receive the resource, but this method varies per planet.
We recommend using a farming Warframe on an Endless mission if you want guaranteed success. Or if you’re short on time, try completing quick tasks such as Exterminate or Capture — and be sure to scour the area when you’re done.
Strategy for Neurode farming
A suggested weapon build for Desecrate Nekros would be Tigris Prime, Slash pistol, and Atterax. Also, the slash weapons function correctly with Nekros’s Desecrate ability, allowing for doubled loot drop rates.
If you’re finding it difficult to progress, try using this method. Nekros needs a Despoil Augment mod to go on an Earth excavation mission called Tikal. Destroy all enemies and open every container. This should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, allowing you to gather at least 4 Neurodes (but potentially more or less).
After you finish the Second Dream quest, you can go to Lua by speaking to Tycho or Plato. They will give you further instructions on finding blue Occulysts, which are challenging to miss since they are bright blue and spawn Sentients.
Taking them down with a team is more accessible, but you can also do it yourself if you feel up for the challenge. They reproduce every 10 minutes or so. Make sure to get rid of them so you can end up with 2 Neurodes at the minimum. Check Orokin caches now and then because they might hold the resource.
Best Neurodes farming locations
Players can quickly become overwhelmed due to the constant cycle of resource finding. Therefore, it’s more efficient only to farm specific locations that yield a high number of Neurodes.

Plains Of Eidolon – Earth
The Plains of Eidolon is the primary destination for players and can be accessed on Earth by unlocking the Cetus node. This location will see significant traffic as gamers participate in mid and end-game missions to receive better rewards.
Because of this, most players choose to farm Neurodes in the Plains of Eidolon since they’ll likely come across various Neuroptic Masses while engaging in other activities.
Zabala – Eris
Zabala is the best instance-based mission for farming Neurodes, but players will only be able to unlock this planet for a while. Players can find plenty of resources here when they reach the end-game content. In addition, Eris is suitable for farming Nano Spores, Plastids, and Mutagen Samples.
Plato – Lua
Players must be well-leveled while rocking a good loadout and preferably an entire squad to succeed in getting through the mission.
As enemies are between levels 25 and 40, gamers should ensure they have a powerful weapon to ensure success on the task. Lua can also be good for farming Rubedo, Ferrite, and Detonite Ampule.
While the Lua may be troublesome to navigate, it still provides a reliable method of obtaining Neurodes – which is only sometimes standard when dealing with this component.
Farming via Sentinel enemies ensures you will remain well-stocked in this much sought-after resource, and they have a much higher chance of dropping it than other enemies you may encounter.
Terrorem – Deimos
Deimos’ enemies are between levels 12 and 35, so while players shouldn’t go into this with fragile equipment, they can have one or two lower-level items in their loadout. It is one of the best tasks for collecting Neurodes, and it becomes available reasonably early in the game.
As such, players can expect to use Deimos missions like Terrorem for a while as they progress through the Star Chart.
Magnacidium – Deimos
The Assassination mission on Deimos gives players a chance at getting 1-2 Neurodes every run compared to other tasks, making it an excellent choice for those who can kill Lephantis relatively quickly.
Players should be aware that enemies in this mission are between levels 12-35, so it is advised that they use a decently strong frame and weapon. Also, going into the task with squad members makes the fight much more accessible than solo.
Mutalist Alad V Infested – Eris
Mutalist Alad V Infested is an Assassination where you’ll face level 30-35 enemies in the Infested Ship tile set. You’re better off using some of the best Warframes available and running this mission with a complete party so that farming Neurodes becomes more efficient compared to other suitable locations.
Although Mutalists isn’t too tricky, they can still pose a threat early on before you’ve gotten yourself decent mod setups.
Tycho – Lua
Tycho is an excellent spot for more late-game players to farm Neurodes while also gaining a good amount of XP. It’s recommended that participants use the Orokin Moon tileset and come armed with at least one powerful weapon and a high-ranking Warframe.
Shotguns are often ideal for this mission because they’re effective in close quarters and earn XP quickly.
Mantle – Earth
Most missions on Earth only have level 1-3 enemies so that you can finish it quickly and efficiently as a Capture player. This leaves you plenty of time to look for Neurodes without worrying about rushing through the task.
Using mods such as Loot Radar becomes even easier since you don’t have to put much exertion into finding the resource yourself.
Mariana – Earth
Mariana is one of the first missions in the game and has a petite tile size so that players can check for Neurodes quickly. The villains are only level 1-3, making farming easy during this simple Extermination.
Tikal – Earth
The Dark Sector Excavation mission is set in the Grineer Forest tileset and is appropriate for most players above level 6. In this mission, players wander around looking for Neuroptic Masses while also killing enemies for extra Neurode farming. They won’t put up much of a fight.
Orokin Derelict assassinate
The chances of successful drop neurodes are high when completing derelict missions, with Lephantis’ assassination mission being one of the most promising.
Although multiple Derelict Assassination Keys are required for entry, each head of the boss you take down during this fight has a chance of dropping a Neurode upon defeat.
On average, players will receive 3-4 per run if successful. While this method is not recommended for beginners due to its difficulty level, it’s an excellent option for end-game players interested in trying something new.
Market
You can buy neurodes from the market for ten Platinum each or as a reusable blueprint for 100 platinum.

Tips
If you need to know how to get Neurodes in Warframe when beginning, go to Earth and look for Neuroptic Masses. While doing it, use frames that deal AOE damage like Ember – these will break open the masses, and your companion can collect the resource more efficiently.
Here are a few more tips:
- The Paracesis is a powerful weapon against sentients on Lua.
- Zabala is ideal for groups that contain Nekros or Hydroid, as they can efficiently gather the resource.
- There is no point in spending 10 Platinum to buy it when you can easily farm the help yourself.
- The Neurode Decoration is not to be confused with actual Neurodes, which can be purchased for 5 Platinum in the market.
Conclusion
In this guide, we have shown you different ways to get neurodes in Warframe. You can farm for them by exploring distant planets and searching for containers, killing enemies for a chance at receiving the resource, or completing missions.
Be sure to scour the area when you’re doing any of this. We guarantee you will get your want very quickly. Good luck!
